Our new HexaLite™ "Mini" Ferro Rod fire starter is the same whopping 1/2-inch diameter 6-sided hex shape as it's bigger brother, but in a more compact 4" length.  To keep the weight down, it also features our new ceramic striker tool. The super hard ceramic material is not only lighter, but its edges won't dull like traditional steel strikers so you always have nice clean, sharp edges for striking the rod. Like all of our ferro firestarter's, this uses our special "PyroStryke" ferrocerium blend that will reliably produce showers of molten hot (up to 5500 degrees) shards on your tinder to ensure you'll get a fire started super fast, even in the worst weather conditions. The 6-sided hex shape of our HexaLite rods also gives you over 50% more striking area than a standard round fire rod.
